Many of you fine people are probably well aware of the fantastic artist Dan May, but you may not be aware of the amazing news about Dan’s upcoming releases. Ill let the artist speak for himself.

“I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a busy year so far around here, and thankfully I have had some extra help which has increased my productivity here in the studio. I have a couple of big announcements going forward. The first being that my wife and I are expecting our first child, a baby boy, in early September; we are very excited and cannot wait to welcome him into our family. Many of you have already had the pleasure of meeting my wife, Kendal, who is also my business manager. We have worked together throughout the years and she has been my greatest inspiration and supporter from the beginning.

Along with this great news, we are currently in the process of creating a book inspired by my artwork. In lieu of a solo show I have been busy working on new paintings for the book. I will be offering these paintings and drawings along the way in effort to help with funding. This is a unique opportunity to purchase original artwork and be a part of this exciting project.

Our goal in creating this book is to inspire imagination among both children and adults alike, and harness that sense of intrigue that we collectively share. This book will hopefully appeal to all who have followed my work over the years. It will consist of 16 paintings, each of which will be accompanied by a short story or poem written by Kendal. This project will take several months to complete, and we hope that you will enjoy following along as it comes to life.

As an added bonus each person who purchases one of the 16 paintings will be entered into a drawing to win the cover art, which will be the largest painting of the series. The winner will be chosen at random once the book is completed. Additionally, each person who purchases an original (drawing or painting) will be given a special ‘thank you’ in the final book.”

After the Rain is a new screen print by our friend, the amazing Eelus. The following is the artists thoughts on this print release.

‘Since the release of my print ‘Not Everything is so Black & White’ around 3 years ago, I’ve had hundreds of emails from disappointed collector’s desperately trying to get hold of a copy. The edition sold out so fast it left many of you a bit miffed and cringing at the thought of resorting to ridiculously high prices on the secondary market. So in answer to all that I’d like to finally offer some kind of a light with this highly anticipated follow-up release.

Since leaking the image online last week, my inbox has been drowned with requests for pre-orders and general interest for it’s release. All I can reveal for now is that there will be a main edition of 175 and a strong possibility of a very limited hand-finished edition. I’m afraid I can’t take pre-orders on either of the editions, if I did then both would have sold out already so please be patient and wait for another update to follow shortly with details on a release date. I’m working with the printers now to get this 27 colour monster printed to the very highest quality you’ve come to expect from my releases. I’ll hopefully have more news for you in the next week or so.’

What began life as a client project has now become our newest animal themed art print, Leo the lion. This was a fun project because we had the chance to fuse a lion’s face with a variety of musical instruments including guitar, bass, drums, piano, horns, and violin. The print is a three color screen print and as a first for us, the inks are printed on top of a clear base layer that helps bring out the true vibrancy of the colors.
