Justin Hampton has a new poster for an independent movie out of Seattle by Director/ Lead Actor- Jay Rowlands. ”Clutch” is a very 70′s style movie about old school hot rod racing, biker gangs, women and money. I went for a classic seventies movie poster layout. The ‘Cotton Comes to Harlem’ classic poster was a big influence on the look of this. With that in mind here’s the official stats on the print:
A nine color screenprint with blue metallic ink on 100 lb white cougar paper stock in an edition of only 60 copies signed and numbered by Justin Hampton and the Director/ Lead Actor- Jay Rowlands. The print measures 16.5 x 24 inches and will be available this Wednesday, August 28th at Noon (PST). Also available in Holographic & Sapphire Variants. Wong Kar Wai’s newest film, “The Grandmaster”, tells the story of the world-famous martial artist Ip Man, the man who, amongst many other accomplishments, is the man who trained Bruce Lee. To accompany the movie is a beautiful new poster for the film by Vania Zouravliov.

“Sunday Mash” by Revok & Jim Darling is an amazing piece that measures 18 x 22 inches and is a archival pigment print on 330gsm fine art paper. The two recently collaborated on this found object art installation in an abandoned church in the heart of Detroit. Working on the piece for two days, the artists dragged an organ up two flights of stairs along with any other pieces of debris in the vicinity they could use to assemble the infinity symbol shown here. The place to get these is 1XRun and they will be available for eleven days or until they are gone. Oh, and check out the other fine pieces while your there. A little more from Revok & Jim Darling.
“When we started this there wasn’t a plan at all. We drove around for a few days just looking at everything. He took me everywhere in Detroit. The church we picked was one of the buildings we looked at on the first or second day of my trip. There were a lot of great elements to work with and the building was amazing. It took us about two and a half exhausting days to complete.” – Jim Darling
“It actually came together much faster than a typical “mural wall” or a piece I create in the studio, however it was much more physically laborious, which was really good! I remember carrying a giant organ and a piano up two narrow flights of stairs from the basement. Jim and I decided it would be most satisfying to create the installation only from objects and materials we could scavenge from the site itself. The church is massive so we carried all kinds of big heavy shit and swept 2 inches of dirt from the entire floor where the installation was created.” – Revok
