Mondo will be releasing limited prints of four of their favorite nominated films from 2011.   They are starting things off with Martin Scorsese’s lovely ode to cinema, “Hugo” and Gore Verbinski’s stellar and quirky “Rango”.  The two other posters in the series will be announced next week, but today you can take a look at Hugo by artist Kevin Tong and Rango by artist Tom Whalen.  All four posters will go on sale during the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26th.  ”Hugo” (pictured first) measures 24 × 36 inches and is a numbered edition of 295.  Also comes in a variant edition of 100.  ”Rango” measures 18 x 24 inches and is a numbered edition 270.  All four of these will go onsale Sunday, Februuary 26th on Mondo’s new and improved store.

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day then with a classic movie.  This limited edition (run of 50) piece measures 18 x 24 inches and is signed and numbered by the artist, N.E.  The print is four colors on 100 weight Poptone Blu Raspberry by French Paper.  It will be available first to patrons of the Blue Starlite Drive-In for the special Valentine’s day screening. Remaining prints will be available at New Flesh Prints at 10:30AM (CST) on February 15th, 2012.

I’m happy to present you with Mondo’s newest poster by Tom Whalen. “Lonesome Ghosts” is one of my favorite Disney shorts ever, and it’s even rumored to have inspired another much beloved piece of ghost-busting cinema (should be an easy one to figure out). As always, Tom brought his absolute best and this one looks great in person.  This piece measures 18 x 24 inches and is a hand numbered edition of 390.  These will be available at at random time on Thursday, February 9th at Mondo.

Like I have said before, this is an amazing movie and now we have Ken Taylor’s beautiful work to accompany.  ”Drive” was viewed last night at The Alamo Drafthouse and Ken Taylor’s work went perfectly with the evening.  This piece measures 24 x 26 inches and is an edition of 445.  Some of these were held back and will be onsale tomorrow, February 2nd at a random time on Mondo’s website.

Back in November JC Richard’s piece for DC Comics went on sale.  If you missed out, JC is planning on putting his copies of the Mondo ‘Fortress Of Solitude’ print up for sale today, January 30th at a random time.  This piece measures 12 x 32 inches and is a beautiful screenprint. Get these at microcosmicmedia when the time is right.

Daniel Daner recently completed a new movie print for CBSfilm’s ‘The Woman In Black’, which will be in theaters in early February.  This beauty (click on image to see a larger version) measures 24 x 36 inches and is a  five color screenprint.  Not sure on the edition size of these, but they are signed and numbered by the artist.  Daniel will have his copies available for sale at Tiny Media Empire at 2pm (EST) on February 3rd.

Back in October JC Richard’s piece for Jurassic Park went on sale.  If you missed out, JC is planning on putting his copies of the Mondo ‘Jurassic Park’ poster & art print up for sale tomorrow, Jan. 27th at a random time.  Both versions are 24×36 inch, 10-color screen prints (with a nice sky split).  Get these at microcosmicmedia when the time is right.

Tomorrow, Mondo will release their poster series for one of the best science fiction franchises of all time, Planet Of The Apes.  Artists in the series include Martin Ansin, Ken Taylor, Rich Kelly, Phantom City Creative and Florian Bertmer. If you purchase the entire set of five, you will also receive the “Go Ape!” poster painted by Jason Edmiston!  These posters will be available online at a random time as a set on Thursday, January 26th and indivdually at a random time on Friday, January 27th.

James White will be releasing his movie poster for “Drive” today.  I loved this movie and really dig this print.  The “Drive” prints were print on an old fashioned six color Heidleberg press.   These measure 22 x 28 inches on Starbrite Velvet 80lb cover.  Edition of 300.  Additionally, There will be a very small run of 24 x 36 inch oversized prints available on semi-gloss poster stock.  These go onsale today, January 19th at 1pm (EST) at Signalnoise.   See you in line!
