On November 21st Brooklynite Gallery will open “Go Get Your Shinebox”. This group show will feature over 100 works from artists all looking to answer the question of how to survive in these economic times by creating their own interpretation of a “Survival Box.” Brooklynite Gallery has commissioned some of their favorite established and emerging artist to take on this challenge and the responses are breathtaking. Artists such as Dain, Miss Bugs, PaperMonster, Anthony Lister, Ben Eine, Jace, Thundercut, Skewville, Ben Frost, Jon Burgerman, Specter, Skewville, Know Hope, Kosbe, Gaia, Ben Frost, Hush, and many more have all created a one of a kind box, each taking the concept of the show one step further.  You can view the entire lists of artists participating and more information by visiting Brooklynite Gallery’s Site.

The Goodfoot is proud to announce that “The Art of Musical Maintenance, in it’s 6th year, will open Dec 3rd from 5pm-2:30am, and be up until Jan 26th. We will be displaying the newest installment of music posters from artists throughout the country. The artists in this show are as diverse as the music. Likewise, the artist’s techniques vary as well (from hand drawn to computer generated design). There are over 50 artists, and around 300 posters.

We are honored to have Gary Houston do the poster for this years show.

Nathan Olsen has just launched a new online online store for his art prints.  He has three new images for sale right now.  They are 12.25″x15.5″ giclées on 13″x19″ acid-free fine art paper. They are $30 each.  Check his new store at Nateomedia.

Danny O’Connor, AKA, DOC (his initials)  is a new artist based in the UK.  He is  releasing a print based on his latest painting titled “The Driver”.  This is a giclee print on both Premium Canvas and Lightly textured Heavyweight Etching Paper.

One of the greatest pieces Shepard Fairey has done in some time.  This piece is titled, “Burmese Monk”  and measures 18 x 24 inches and is limited to 450.  These are going onsale this Thursday, November 12 at a random time at Obey Giant.  I will keep you guys updated in the forum for the exact drop time.  Good Luck!

I have some amazing news coming the Edge Art Studios.  New in the Skins Series is this hand embellished print ‘Nev And His Awia’ By Rourke Van Dal.  This will be released tomorrow, November 11th at  11am.  This piece measures 56cm x 76cm and is a very small edition of 10.  Signed & numbered, hand embellished Giclée print on 315gsm acid free archival etching paper.  These can be had at Edge Art.

Tatian has a brand new print called “Swing”.  This piece measures 18×24 inches, is a five color silkscreen printed on a lovely Sno-Cone stock from French Paper.  This will be printed by the awesome folks at D&L and will have an edition of no more then 60.  If you’re feeling a bit gun-shy and would like to wait to see some photos of the finished print before dropping dough, look out for those around the 18th of November in Tatiana’s shop.

Mark Brabant has just released a new print titled “Extra Innings”.  This piece measures 18 x 24 inches and is four colors on 100 lb. white.  Just in time for the World Series, this is a print to have.  You can get these at Hovering Object.

Shepard Fairey has a very unique print he is releasing.  Spider Lily Print measures 24 x 18 inches and is an edition 450.  This will go on sale this Thursday, November 5th at a random time on Obey Giant.  Below is a little more about the print:

My parents grew up in Rock Hill S.C. which is a beautiful town in a mostly rural part of upstate S.C. I worked with my Uncle Wade Fairey to create this art to benefit Historic Rock Hill preservation. The story of the Courtney Spider Lily art is that it is a rare flower thriving in the Courtney Island section of the Catawba river. The art is designed to promote water quality on the Catawba River which has been greatly affected by “run off from urban development”, bird – wildlife habitation and “availability of movement along the Catawba”, which has resulted in a 100’ buffer on either side of the river. There are many individuals and groups interested in seeing the Catawba remain a lovely river.

This Friday sees the long-awaited release of the signed and numbered edition of the Ween at Red Rocks screen print by Jermaine Rogers.  Measuring 34×25 inches, this six color screen print is finally being made available from Jermaine.  This was the official print commemorating the recent Ween show at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.

This piece will be available for purchase beginning at a random time around 2pm MOUNTAIN TIME (that’s 4pm EASTERN; 1pm PACIFIC) Friday, November 6, 2009 at Jermaine’s webstore.

The Faded Line has a wonderful new, limited edition batik by Emek.  These are signed and numbered to 65 – approx 68 x 45 inches.

Each batik is hand painted by a family in Bali. Upon arrival in the US, they are signed and numbered by Emek. No two batiks are the same! In addition to a wall hanging, some people frame the batiks or even wear as a sarong.

The Carnivorus Musicalus was originally used on as the official event poster for the 2007 Coachella Music Festival – beautifully illustrated by Emek.

A portion of every sale will go towards new filtration systems. The family who makes each wall hanging by hand is paid very well and hopes you love these.
