Marq Spusta created a poster for Phish’s recent gig at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on June 26 & 27.  They made an Edition of 950, and over 900 of those sold out at the gigs.  Marq has held back a very limited amount of these to sell to the public. To keep this sale reasonable, Marq is holding a lottery to select interested buyers.  Check out his site to sign up and the details are below:

Please welcome newcomer Thomas Boswell to The Poster District.  “Aurora” is a four-color screen print designed by Thomas Boswell.  Hand-printed on a natural white recycled 270gsm archival printmaking paper, the printed area measures roughly 12 by 17 inches with an additional 1 inch border for framing.  You can pick these up at the Tiny Showcase.

Thomas has chosen Compton Hospice as his artwork’s charity.  Compton Hospice provides clinical and support services for people with life limiting illnesses and their carers and families.  They work to make a difference to people’s lives when their illness is no longer curable, adding life to years rather than years to life. $250 dollars from the sale of Thomas’ artwork will be donated to the organization.

Dan Grzeca released his latest print this past weekend at Flatstock 26.  If you were not able to make it, here is your chance to grab the print.  “Reclamation” is 23 x 17.5 inches on 140 lb white paper and is five screens.  The edition size is 180.  This is available in Dan’s shop.

Jeremiah Ketner has two new prints you guys should check out.  The first, “Between Falls” is a giclée print thats measures 12 x12 inches and is an edition of 30.  The second, “Can We Watch the Stars”, is a giclée print of 9.5 x 11.75 inches and is an edition of 30.  Pick yours up at Small And Round.

Not much to write about this weekend in artworld land, so I thought I would blabber about a piece that I missed a couple days ago.  Unfortunately, this piece is sold out, but you all can still enjoy.   “Absolut Hype” is the latest creation from John Grayson. I’m a big fan of graffiti art, so the parody of this piece is just superb.  Measures 14 x 18 inches and is a two color screenprint that was printed on french speckletone cream 80lb cover stock.  Signed and numbered edition of 30.  You can keep undated with John’s work here.

Been awhile since I’ve had some news from Josh Keyes.  “Last Kiss” is a signed & Numbered Edition of 250 printed on Archival Giclee on Embossed Hahnemühle Velvet Paper (308 gm weight).  Paper size measures 24 x 18 inches with deckled edges.  Published through Limited Addiction Publishing, 2010.  “Last Kiss” is scheduled for release on Tuesday, July 20th at approximately 11 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time (Denver, CO).  So on Tuesday, head over to David B Smith Gallery to claim yours.

We’re excited to announce the newest venture from Roman Titus, former founder/director/curator of The BLDG, AnalogApes.

Roman Titus has recently sold The BLDG and moved to Chicago and began AnalogApes to continue curating and publishing art prints.  Look for some new amazing prints coming from artists like Andy Kehoe, Rodrigo Level, Matt Haber and others.  Roman will also be releasing his own prints through AnalogApes as well.

Their next print release is the first in a series of three from Roman Titus.  This print is a theater in Cincinnati, OH known as The 20th Century Theatre and is entitled, “Theatre I” It is a 19″x25″, 5 color hand pulled screen print with Metallic Silvers.  It’s an edition of 50 on French Paper.  It goes on sale at 1p.m. EST on Tuesday, July 27th.

Clint Wilson and Tim Doyle were asked to participate in “The Tesla Project”, a Tesla themed art and music event held here in Austin last weekend.  Both created prints for the show, and now that the show has wrapped, the prints are available to all you in Nakatomi-land!  “Tesla” by Clint Wilson is an 18×24 hand-printed silkscreen poster, signed and numbered by the artist in an edition of 50.  “Man of Tomorrow” is a 12×24 hand-pulled silkscreen print, signed and numbered by Tim Doyle in an edition of 100.

This screen print measures approximately 24 x 17 inches and is printed on archival gallery stock. It features brilliant inks, including pearlescent tones. This striking imagery was also the same artwork that Jermaine recently painted as a commissioned mural for NIKE in NYC.  The subject matter is pretty direct.  From Jermaine:

“I named this image ‘The Problem.’ Obviously, the two fellas in the image have a little problem amongst themselves…about which I am offering no extra information. But, their disagreement might be seen as a microcosm of the greater issue I’ve chosen to address in the background. Perhaps this much larger, more cancerous problem is indirectly (or directly) the cause of lil’ bunny and lil’ raccoon’s heated issue. I know this: It certainly screws up things in our human world. I’m sick of it. When will we all, collectively, ‘grow up?’ We don’t need the training-wheels anymore. We’re afraid to ride on our own.”

‘The Problem’ is limited to only 100 signed and numbered prints.

This variant is printed on blue slate stock and limited to only 15 signed and numbered pieces. It features brilliant inks, including pearlescent tones.

The very talented Amy Sol is releasing a new print on July 20th, at 2pm (PST).   “Plumlit Night” is a limited edition print of 50 that measures 20.5 x 24 inches fine-art archival sheet and 18.5 x 22 inches on the image.  Signed and numbered, embossed watermark on giclee print on archival paper.  Check out Amy’s shop when you have the time.

The subject of this piece is quite obvious and £10 from each sale will be donated to SHELTER.  SHELTER is a UK based charity which works with the homeless throughout the nation. You can find more information about them and what great work they do here.

2Cents is back with a new print after creating 5 sold out editions with Malcolm McDowell for A Clockwork Orange.  Usually using only black and white in his palette of silhouetted imagery this brand new four color print titled “Shrapnel” samples recognizable images and abstract shapes to create a rich symmetrical compositions.  Using pictures and shapes as a DJ would use breaks and loops 2Cents takes from what surrounds him in Los Angeles, the internet, and his day to day travels short and far. “Shrapnel” is a four color print based around an iconic image of a child in halloween make up which evokes the feeling of nostalgia growing up in an uncertain time and using simple things to escape the boredom of day to day life.  Only available at Paperworks Laboratories this Friday, July 16th.
